I have been loading only Black Powder cartridge, which is done by volume and not weight, so I don't have a scale. I am ready to move on to smokeless cartridge reloading and was considering a digital scale. I don't want a $250+ scale with dispenser, just a good reliable digital scale. Lyman, RCBS, Hornady, Cabela's or Scheel's branded scale???? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I've used the RCBS (with dispenser) and an older dillon d-terminator.  both worked fine.  many of the scales are made by the same people and badged with different brands.  get one with an ac adaptor.  check the zero/calibration regularly.

I have the Dillon Determinator also, w/o an auto feed or trickled. It can be finicky at times, needing multiple re-zeroing, but its still much faster and more accurate than any balance beam I've used. I've had this for about 10 years and have weighed many thousands of charges, and considering that I do all my loading in my cellar which is usually but not always well climate controlled I cannot blame its sometime finicky behavior on the machine.

RCBS Chargemaster 750 scale worked flawlessly for 6 years and then had a probable tin-whisker short, cost $35 for a new one. one year and no problems on the new one

I have used a Pact BBk for 6-7 years and love it.  It's never given me a bit of trouble.

I recently purchased a RCBS Rangemaster 750. It’s been performing flawlessly.

I would suggest however that you get a set of calibrated weights to check your scale with. With only one scale, and a digital one at that, it will be hard to verify that the scale is working properly without a set of check weights.

Just my $0.02 worth.
