Looks cool but is there a reasoning for the different colors? Different loads perhaps? |

Looks cool but is there a reasoning for the different colors? Different loads perhaps? Different type of projo I beleave. And my contribution. WCC 5.56 brass. Tac powder and Hornady 55 Grain FMJ. Scott http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/g409/scotts5561/reloadingandAR017.jpg Normally, that's the case, but some people just like to paint them for fun (or perhaps like VT said for different loads). InfiniteGrim's are painted, I believe. I could be wrong. |

So it's been annealed twice....color and consistent heat is something I'd been working toward for some time.
Heat traveled to a point and stopped pretty much the same place, every case. Brass was re-annealed using a waterless heat sink method.... something else I've been working on for months, No big deal, right ?? |

Looks cool but is there a reasoning for the different colors? Different loads perhaps? those where some 750 amaxs i loaded up to go to the world shot a few years ago the colors were separate the groups for the weight groupings trying to get them as close to perfect as possible a 750 amax weighs in +/- 5.0 grains i grouped them for +/- 0.5 grains (lots of sorting there) i now use Tenx 795's which weigh in @ +/- .01 |

Quoted: Fire formed .17 AH from .22 hornet brass . I used a form die , full length sizer die and then fired it. http://i570.photobucket.com/albums/ss148/Easy_E_photos/7b599b86.jpg Have you thought about one of those hydraulic form dies from Hornady? Might save you a step or two. |

I plan on fire forming them on p-dogs out west in May. Here's a older picture

If it saves you a range trip to fireform, the gas over time might be worth it, depending on how far you drive to get to the range. Really though, it's just a great excuse to buy some cool tools. |

Didn't have any hanging around (a grave man-code violation). I used Scotch tape initially before screwing the lid down. |
