I got a Dillon 1200 for Christmas and am beginning to reload for 308. I'm wondering to what length you trim to for my 308. The bullets will primarily be fired in an M1A. I found 2.005 in a book, but I'm wondering if that's the same for semi auto and bolt.
I searched through the site but couldn't find anything, even with google (anything I could access). |

Trim-to is correct. It's not any different for a semi-auto or bolt gun. What you will find though, is that the brass from a semi grows faster than a bolt gun, and will have to be trimmed more often. But since it doesn't really last as long, it's kind of a moot point. |

I haven't really used mine yet but many folks are reporting that when they use their RCBS X-dies they don't have the cases getting longer during the resizing process like they did with other dies. This: I have them and use them... X-Dies are great, just follow the directions carefully (one of the steps is to trim the brass a little shorter than the trim-to length listed in your reloading manual). |
