Hey I fubar'd my Grabber, dropped shot all over the damn place, collet was acting up, shells wouldn't lower to get sized. ended up
taking the whole collette sizing assembly apart and putting it back together.  Can you
look at my photos and take a look at your Grabber and make sure I have
these two bolts in the right position?  It's the front and back of the
red tower between the base and underneath the shell plate
Front:  I'm pretty sure the bolt goes thru the lower slot in the red frame, but not sure if it mates to the lower or upper hole in the black bar, please confirm.  For now I have it in the lower hole

Back: bolt in question is the allen head bolt, does it go in the upper or lower slot? You can see the tip of the bolt of the first picture above on the bottom

Depends on if you are loading 2 3/4 inch or 3 inch which holes you use.

Ar

you are correct about the front bolt that lower one is for 2  3/4" shells. The sizing I'm not sure about it. I'm surprised the manuals don't say anything about adjusting it for 2 3/4" or 3" .. I would suggest the tech line For Technical Support call: (800) 797-4632 or e-mail Technical Support. to see what they say.. .. sorry cant be more help

Yours looks completely different from my 1979-80 Grabber.

Hope this helps. BW gave more detail. The white stuff is lithum grease.

Thanks everyone, I think the back bolt should be on the bottom slot.  Makes sense, if you ever convert it to 3", everything has to be 1/4" higher.

I lost the little detent ball while mucking with this despite being careful.  Replacement arrived yesterday so I'm good to go.

Like I said I dumped shot, and it wedged a shell in the sizing collet, the shell was stuck tight, when I removed the shell the collet was bent at one pedal, or wedged, so I decided to remove it.  Removing the collet requires getting the shell plate out of the way.  Not using my noodle nor reading the manual I separated the base from the rest of the machine and was able to get the collet out.

All I needed to do was raise the big spring up 3 inches, wedge it with and allan wrench thru the hole in the column, now the shell plate can be slid up.  Live and learn!
