Any feedback or thoughts are appreciated.  I don't have a copy of Lyman's Cast book, just the normal one along with a Lee and Hornady.  Not too much info on this bullet.

I'm using all 1911s, and this will just be a practice load.  Using Winchester primers and Unique.  Here's what I've found for possible loads.

5.0gr, 1.22 OAL
5.5gr, 1.25 OAL
5.7gr, 1.245 OAL

Thoughts?  I really don't want to respring my 1911s just for this one load, and also don't want to lead my barrel up too much.

I have had very good results with 185 gr cast SWC's (Missouri Bullets) in 45 ACP with Clays. (plain Clays)

I was using 4.0 grs Clays, mixed cases and Win primers in the pics. Also having a good day.

I have also used 3.6 grs Clays with this bullet.

These loads function 100% with the stock recoil spring in my Kimber.

You can use Unique data for the 200 gr SWC, or drop the powder charge just a tad.

When you lose function, you will know you went too low.

Also check Alliant's on line data.

eta, I use 1.250 OAL with a SWC.

From Alliants web site the closest they have is the Speer 200 gr LSWC.

200 gr Speer LSWC

Minimum OAL 1.19, primer CCI 300

Barrel lenght 4.4

Unique  5.4 grs for 790 fps.

So your loads in your first post are right in the ball park.

Thanks guys!  I didn't even think about the powder website, I guess I've always used the several books and always found a recipe.

I decided to go with a 5.3gr 1.25 OAL.
