Just wondering how these powders compare to each other for handgun reloading, specifically .45ACP, please list your pro's and con's of each if you can, you may also add your preference of powder if it is not listed. Thanks!!

Thanks!! tightgroup Good accuracy, good choice. Of the 3 I've used my favorite of this list. bullseye A little dirty burning, good accuracy. autocomp Haven't tried it yet. unique A little dirty burning, good accuracy. What I use is Clays for cast bullets, and Power Pistol for full power loads. And don't forget W-231, another good 45 ACP powder. Welcome to Arfcom. |

Don't care for Titegroup. I don't like fast powders because it is too easy to get pressure spikes due to the high impulse power of the powder. Also double charges are not easily spotted since they don't come close to filling the case. I prefer Unique. At the higher charge weights it is not as dirty as some claim. It gives good velocities with a decent recoil impulse and is easier to spot a double charge especially with the higher charge weights as they nearly fill the case.
I haven't used the other two so I can't say. |
