precision handloads and blasting. Some pretty warm.

I am running a timney trigger in one AR. I was told to avoid the Wolf SR and go with 223 or SRM in an autoloader due to floating firing pin and warm loads.

Any issue with light strikes/failures to ignite with Wolf 223 or SRM?? which one should I go with?

I have fired many WIN SR in the past with no problem.

Thanks

Seems the opinino here & else where is that the primer cups of the magnum primers & others that are a bit thicker but not claimed to be magnum & the ".223" primers reduce the possibility the AR-15 rifle's floating firing pin will slam the primer hard enough to cause the round to fire before the bolt goes fully into battery or once fully into battery.  I have used many non-magnum primers with out problems.  Due to availabiliy & pricing issues I switched to Wolf Small Rifle Magnum (WSRM) & continue to have no issues.  The WSMR primers do seem to allow more chamberings before the primer is dented by the firing pin as on a non-magnum would be with several less chamberings by allowing the bolt to slam into battery.  Of course, DO NOT use Remington #6.5 in .223.  There are several quite suitable SRP's available.  I uses about 1000 of the Winchester SR & Wolf SR, non-magnum with no issue  in .223, AR-15 with NO problems.  I hope this helps.  I have had NO failures to fire on the first try with any Wolf rifle or pistol primers.
I can not recall having a primer failure for years with centerfire primers.  Have had well enough with some bulk pack .22 rimfire, especially REMINGTON & some WINCHESTER.

I switched from Win SR to Wolf SRM a couple of years ago. The Wolf "223 rem" primer is also GTG.

I reworked up my standard loads and they were the same with either primer.

With precession loads, I use Rem 7 1/2's as they are a little more accurate in my AR's than the Wolf primers.

from what I have read...you have to get an AR-10 trigger to reliably ignite .mil primers...

Stronger spring or bigger hammer...

Dryflash is right...Wolf SRMs are all that I use...

Wolf .223s are what I started using for Highpower Rifle 200 yards reduced matches. The groups are small and consistant.

Every tray that I have opened have all the primers facing up for inspection and the compound is identical in every cup.  Wish I could say the same for BR4s that I use for full distance matches.
