Thanks for reading!

Wondering if anyone has any experience w/MagTech 7 1/2 Small Rifle Primers for AR-15 loads? I looked on the "Load List" stickied on this forum, and didnt see a single MagTech entry. Curious if they're considered "sensitive" and may heighten the possibility of a slam fire.

On the flip side of that coin, I've heard that CCI primers are "sensitive" and may present higher slam fire risk - but that same "Load List" shows plenty of CCI-primed loads. Am I afraid of monsters under the bed, or is there valid concern about sensitive primers and slam fires?

FWIW, I'm currently loading my AR loads with Remington 7 1/2 Small Rifle Bench Rest primers...

I just opened a 5k box today, gonna use them for blasting loads.

They have an O imprinted on the primer. Sure way to ID these.

CCI's are good primers. I use the Rem 7 1/2's for my precision loads.

The key to preventing slam fires is proper primer seating.

Primers should be .002 to .008 below end of case.

You should inspect each round.

I like to uniform my primer pockets, makes primer seating a breeze.

I chuck my uniformer in a cordless drill and it goes fast.

I have gone through about 700 of these Magtech 7 1/2s now.  They all have functioned flawlessly, and I have been able to shoot some pretty darn good groups with them too.  The only complaint I have with them is that it can be difficult to get them started into the primer pocket straight with some cases, especially swaged primer pockets.

I have loaded about 600 of these so far and they work very well and seat well below the case no misfires or slam fires so far.

I have used several thousand of them and really like them. I have had a slam fire or two, but found it was my fault for not seating the primer completely.

I just ran out and have moved to my CCI primers. These are noticably harder to seat as they are harder cups.

I prefer the MagTech's if I can find more of them.
