A while ago I picked up about 5K pulled 62grn. M855 bullets.  I just started loading them and I happened to find one of my loaded rounds not weighting correctly.  I pulled the bullet and found that the lead had fallen out of the jacket with only the steel insert left in the bullet.

Anyone ever see this before?  What would have happened if I would have shot it?

Never happened to me.

Light bullet would have gone very fast?

I've bought a good bit of bulk .308 and .223 from Hi-tech. Never had a problem with 'em and they seem to be fairtly accurate.

The ones I got look like they'd been run over by a tank.

Could have just been me.

I dont remember where I got them from - but yeah they do look a little rough, and it would be nice if they were round   But they shoot fine and were cheap.........

iv used probably 10k from HI-TECH with no more than a handfull of culls. I run all my pulled bullets thru a lee .224 bullet sizer no matter where i get em.

Never had the core fall out, but for being pulled mine shot pretty well.

Out of my standard 1.5-2MOA barrel for the two groups i shot, one had the first three rounds within and inch, but the the fourth was an inch low, and the fifth was an inch high creating a 2.5" group, the second group had four within an inch and the fifth being 1.5" low making a 2" group.

the projectiles didnt look bad either....

HI-Tech's link works OK. http://www.hi-techammo.com/hitech.zkb?menu=0&method&home-page . I also run all my pulled bullets through a Lee .224 swage die.
