So I am looking at buying some bulk 55gr FMJBT rounds and was wondering how the LC M193 stacks up to Horniday and Berries?
Horniday is my first pick, but I want to try the LC if people here have had good results. Are they steel core? Thanks for the help guys. |

I don't know about Berry's bullets, but military M193 bullets like those LC bullets you are talking about, are really designed to give about 2 MOA accuracy from an AR15 - which is plenty good enough from a "minute-of-enemy" military standpoint. However, most of us reloaders prefer to have better accuracy than that. It is in this respect that the Hornady 55-gr FMJBT bullets shine. They seem to have no trouble giving 1 MOA accuracy from any decent AR, and will virtually always outshoot the LC M193 slug. So myself, and from what I've seen, a majority of people here on the forum prefer the more accurate Hornady after trying both.
No - LC or any other standard M193 bullet is NOT steel core. |

i got 1.5moa (if were talking about 100 yards.. right?) with the LC 55gr. actually it was american eagle XM193 loaded ammo. and i thought i was doing terrible. good for ringing steel, not so much for long range prairie doggers like myself. the hornadys i have had good luck with, but i have not shot more than a couple hundred of them. not a fan of the FMJ bullet myself. |

. P.S. Berry's sells Winchester and I have never had good accuracy from any Winchester FMJ bullet.
