After putting it off for years, I finally bought the plastic knob that fits on the powder adjustment bolt of the Dillon 550.
Now I find the knob will not slip on the hex bolt head. Before I force it and split the plastic knob, what is the secret? The knob I bought is marked 5/16". Can someone who has installed the knob shed some light? |

Is this a Dillon made knob, or some aftermarket thing you got off of Ebay? It should be pretty simply, no? Put the square peg in the square hole. If it doesn't fit, can you enlarge it any with say a Dremel tool? I made my own knob out of a square piece of pine and chiseled out the hex hole. Works for me. If it's a Dillon knob, you can always send it back for a replacement. I went 10 yrs using a knob, before the light bulb went on and I did something about it. Chris |

Quoted: http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg272/dryflash3/PB290314.jpg I make mine out of 1/4 thick oak 2 inches in diameter. Original idea came from COSteve. Simple to make. 2½" hole saw makes blanks that you then trim to press fit the hex heat bolt. A tick mark with a file painted white finishes the job. ![]() |

I bought a couple of these in black at a local Home Depot and they work great...
