My Dillon scale died.  Should I replace it with another Dillon or an RCBS?  Thanks in advance.

My friend's father has a Lyman and really likes it.  He does some precision shooting as well as plinking.  Uses his 550 & 650 for plinking but for the precision stuff goes with the Lyman.  I believe it is accurate to .10 grain.  (Not sure if I worded that right, but it measures 25.50 or .25.51 grain vs some that will go from 25.50 to 25.60 like my digital RCBS does.

Most electronic reloading scales read in .1  increments  with a +/- .1 accuracy guarantee and almost all the cheaper ones that are sold to reload with that usually are used to weigh jewelry read .2, I just recently purchased a RCBS Rangemaster 750 and so far it holds zero very well
RCBS
I still check my first couple loads on a balance beam but you can't beat the speed of a electronic

If it is the Dillon D-Terminator digital scale, Dillon will replace an out-of-warranty digital scale with a new one for $85 plus your old scale in trade.
If you wish to do this, contact Dillon for a return authorization.

oehler <sp> makes 99% of those scales. they are pretty much all the same.

dillon's no bs warranty does not cover scales. the determinator 1 had known issues and mine failed 1 month outside the warranty. dillon finally reaplced it but gave me a massive run around. they sent me to oehler for repair, oehler said they were special made for dillon and didn't service them.took me almost 4 months to get it replaced.

I love my RCBS 750.

I wold probably go with the RCBS.  I have a 750, and its worked pretty well so far.  I've had a Cabela's badged scale for several years, and it still works fine.  Only problem is, it will no longer let you calibrate the scale.  I have no idea why, but no matter how many times or how hard you press the button, nothing happens.  Hasn't been a real issue, though, as it reads just as accurately as my RCBS or my Lyman beam scale.

Here's a good idea.  I will call Dillon Friday.  Many thanks.

Called Dillon.  They gave me an RMA number over the phone.  Return it to them and for $85 you get a new one in exchange.  Dillon rocks.
