Guys, if you’re switching from say Winchester 55gr FMJ to Hornady 55gr FMJ,
would you work it like a new load, or will my workup on the Winchester be just fine for the Hornady? This is strictly for plinking, not precision shooting. Thanks |
| If my load was close to the max for that particular round then I would start over and work my way back up just to be safe. If it was just some middle of the road "plinkin' round" then I would load a few of them up the same and see how they shoot. If they shoot to your needs then start crankin' them boys out. |

You will see much better accuracy with the Hornady 55 gr FMJBT over the Win.
If you gave your load with Win bullets, I could give an answer on switching bullets. Just don't know how hot you load. Drop back 10% from your existing load and work back up is the safest way. |
