don't come with the shell holders anymore.

i just got a redding die set for 30-06 (fl sizer and seating die) but no shell holder came with the set. the midway web site told me as much, so i had to order the s/h seperately.

the dies cost $33.00 and the s/h cost $7.50. that's almost 25% cost of the die set. ouch! they used to be included with the dies. this is a fairly recent practice because the redding .30 M1 carbine dies i ordered about 6 months ago came complete.

i like redding dies and use them exclusively, but that might be a deal breaker for those not so inclined.

just thought you might like to know...

The news to me was that they ever did. RCBS dies never came with shell holders that I've had any experience with.

Now Lees on the other hand...

If your using a progressive you may not need them.  My LNL ap uses plates so the shell holder is just a useless addition to the set anyway.  Now if you are using a single stage its a problem...

None of my Redding dies came with a shellholder.  My oldest set was bought over 3 years ago.
