After the dry spell that has been the past 4 years I scored a small but decent bit of brass.

Went into my local metal supply house that sells metal at scrap prices.  And low and behold I see a bucket of brass.  it is full of rem 308s

I ask the owner how much and he tells me that it walked in that morning for $25 and I can have it for $30 since I'm a good customer.

I grabbed the steel I was getting anyeay and out the door I go.

well aside from a few random 40s the bucket was full of
308
9mm
45 auto
45 colt
plus some 50 ae and 30-40 krag????????

My wife still cant understand why a bucket of junk brass can make a grown man so happy.
Noting like many of you guys but it made my week.

Good score, post a pic if you can.

30-40 Krag, the US military cartridge before the 30-06.

Yeah I know about the Krag but was just superised by them  also there are some old IIRC remingtom 762 54 R cases with the old style bubble head.

No pics as they are all sorted and awaiting in line for the tumbler.

I told the shop owner to let me know whenever he gets brass in.  He then asked how much will I buy.  Which my response was "until the price is no longer good. "

Balloon head brass? Jeebus, that's ancient stuff. I have some old balloon head .38 specials.

I also scored some brass,My buddy is the armorer at the base where I live, and he told me when he was takin the brass to the salvage yard, he took70lbs of brass there. Mostly lake city but I got right around 1000 pieces of brass for free. They were hesitant about selling it because of liabily reasons (they could split and hurt you or your gun yada yada yada)........so after a little buggin the guy about destroying perfectly good brass, he let me fill up a bucket

nice score! I have a buddy that works at an indoor range and they don't sell brass to the public either. I spoke with the boss for a bit and he was in need of primers. I offered 2k (1 large pistol and 1 small rifle that cost me all of 40 bucks for the pair) and in return got a 5 gallon bucket full of unsorted brass that weighed in at 75lbs! And yes there is something peculiar about the treasure hunt that ensues while sorting through brass and the happiness it brings.
