I would like to purchase one of those pocket digital scales that measures in grains.
Where would be a good place to find one locally as in Wally World, Office Depot, etc, etc???

If you do find one make sure it has resolution down to a tenth of a grain, many of the cheap jewelry digital scales only resolve down to two tenths of a grain.

You may want to try your local pipe/smut/tobacco shop.  They have several around my area, that unfortunately I am "called" upon to visit periodically (strictly work related).  They seem to have a few expensive scales in these places.  Why not just order one from Midway or the like???

Be careful of buying ANY digital scale that claims to measure in grains.  I bought two very nice little scales, spent about $50 total, and tried them out.  Neither weighed in grains.  One actually said "GN," in the units area, but it really measured pennyweights in that mode.  The other didn't even have a "GN" mode.  Both weigh in grams just fine so they went to my wife for hobby use.  If it needs to be a grain scale, go with someone that knows their stuff.  Either get it from Midway, Cabella's or other well known shooting-related vendor, or from a major vendor of precision instruments.

MidwayUSA has a August sales cat. #266 with "Micro Reloading Electronic Scale" 1/10 grain resolution, 750 grain range,  for $19.99.

However, all my $20-$50, made in China, electronic scale purchases have performed in a disappointing manner.  They seem to be afflicted with a hysteresis and/or memory problem.  I would recommend having a beam scale handy to back check your $20 electronic scale.

I prefer my cheap, basic but accurate Lee beam scale to one of those cheap electronic piles of crap.

There seem to be no good options in the $60-70 price range, you have to go well over $100 to get a decent one.  My Lee scale works well enough, after all I know how to use an analog scale since its not that hard.

I just bought one from Brian Enos for 74.95 with RCBS's combination Powder Pan/Funnel (free) with each scale.

http://www.brianenos.com/store/be.scale.html

Have not had a chance to use it but seems like a good unit

I was going to purchase the same scale, until I found the same model (less the pan/funnel) elsewhere on internet, for about half the price.

This is Arfcom, post the link or it never happened.

Help those in the market for a good cheap scale out.

I got Cabella's XT1500 for about $80.  It's sensitive enough that I have a foam-core board set up next to it to keep it from being influenced by the fan in the room.  I DO double check the scale periodically against my RCBS 5-0-2, though.  The digital scale resolves so much faster than the beam scale that it's a real time saver, but it's only a time saver if it's accurate-which is why I double check it now and then.

I paid under $100 for this one brand new and it has plenty of capacity for me.  Its the only scale I have ever been pleased with......but I am sure there are cheaper ones that are just as good.  I was just saying that its worth it to buy a nice one.  Dont be conned into buying a $20 chinese made scale off of ebay......you won't be satisfied.
