I buy powder and primers localy and havn't seen metallic cartridge primers for 2 months until today. The local fun store had 12000 CCI large pistol and 12000 Remington small rifle primers but would sell just 1000 of each per customer per day so I got 1000 Lg. pistol for $29.90 and 1000 small rifle 7 1/2 bench rest primers for $30.50. I'm going back tomorrow for more of the benchrest'ers.
Maybe primers are back!! |

I think you are more likely to find them now than 4 months ago but I don't see availability changing much as long as we have these lunatics in Washington with absolutely no regard for America's fundamental founding values. I have heard people say ammo is back at Wal Mart when they were just incredibly lucky to show up the day a large shipment came in and everything old out by the next day. I have been fairly lucky to find primers, I got some Rem 7 1/2's in 3-4 weeks from Cabelas that was only 1 out of 4 items on my order, everythign else was cancelled. Now I wish I had gotten more than 2000. I was also browsing Natchezss online since they have some nice nickel plated 45 acp primered brass, I was looking at this since I had no LP primers and sure enough at the bottom of the page was a link to Rem 2 1/2's in stock. I ordered the max, 5000 and hours later they were sold out. I have been very lucky to get what I needed the most. I would like to get some small pistol but I've had a ton of factory loaded 9mm so I'm just shooting that and saving up the brass for now. I would think the craze would die down but as soon as people get all they need someone new starts shooting and reloading and has the desire to buy a bunch of stuff. More people are reloading than ever and the trend will continue as long as we have a president that has no respect for our freedom. |
