I recently received some .308 brass from Widener's with a lot of CBB and SBS headstamps.

German and Belgian?

All have Nato marks.

I checked the usual sources, but they all stop with CB and SB.

No clue on the CBB

SBS = Santa Barbara Systems - I've seen it dated 05,06,07,08.

This was made in Spain under contract by General Dynamics. When Lake City realized they couldn't keep up with ammunition production for the wars in Iraq and Afgahanistan, the army looked for a second source for small arms ammunition.

Thank you, sir.

Anybody on CBB?

Would you have a pic of the CBB?

I'm going to presume it's marked in a fashion similar to the SBS, yes?

Very similar headstamps, yes.

Thanks for your help on this.

I was speaking with a friend who is very well versed in headstamps and, he
believes the CBB stamp may be of Taiwanese origin (similar to the Spanish
SBS contract).
