Thanks for the tips guys, I dont have a case gauge yet, I have just been using a hand trimmer (with gauge). The Problem seems to be (for what ever reason) my trigger is not clicking up far enough to fire. I have to kind of flick it from the side, and then it will click forward (does this make any sense?) Then it will shoot a certain number of rounds, and then trigger jam again. Can this be a problem with my loads or is it the gun? Its a new bare bones dpms.

Not enough information. It could be either ammo or rifle. Not sure this question belongs here or in AR15/Troubleshooting. Are you using reloads, mil surp, or what?
[oops] just noticed it is reloads. It could be that the cases are a little too long requiring taps on the forward assist to get the bolt to close and lock so it will fire. Take off the upper. Drop some of your reloads into the chamber. Push them up tight with your finger. See if they fall back out. If they are sticky and resistant to falling back out you may have a tight chamber or your reloads casings may have a bulging shoulder or body. Check the bullet tips and make sure they are not touching the lands (no longitudinal scratches on the ogive area). Also make sure there are no bright areas around the neck mouth. Use a colored Sharpie to dye those areas and check for scratches if in doubt. Make sure the primers are seated below the face of the casing head. Hold a straight edge over the primer/casing assembly and up to the light. You should see a small line of light across the top of the primer. Or––-get some Mil Surp or commercial stuff and run a few mags through to make sure it is not the gun. |
