Hey all -

What is typical variance when seating bullets?  I'm targeting a COL of 2.250" with 68gr BTHP Hornady match bullets for .223 loads.  I'm putting each one on the caliper after I seat the bullet and doing the best I can to make sure I use the same length and pressure of pull every time I seat a bullet.

I'm seeing measurements between 2.246" and 2.256", this seems like a bit too much to me, but then again, I don't have a clue...  Is this much variance normal?  I don't think I've ever seen this much variance seating 55gr bullets, then again, I've only reloaded a few hundred rounds, so I'm not sure what "typical" is yet...

What you are seeing is overall length in the projo's themselves, not seating depth.
I've seen SMK's vary as much as .015 in the same box,, the tip to the base is different.
