Ok I finally found and bought me a 6.8 upper by RRA. The problem I am finding that we all are going through is no/to little ammo for sell.

So I am getting reloading matterials for loading the 6.8.

So far i have:

RCBS dies
Hornaday brass 50 count.
Remington brass 100 count
SIerra 110gr prohunter coming in monday

Now I have a Lee factory crimp die that is coming in on monday. The question is for those that handload the 6.8. Do you crimp your handloads?

Now I do crimp lightly my 06 loads for my Browning Bar for consistant neck pressure on the bullet in a relitively heavy recoiling rifle but is this nessery for the 6.8?

I still have not decided on a powder(assuming I can find some when  I decide) that will give me 2550 fps with out it being a max load. Suggestions?

The rifle is RRA lower and RRA upper 16inch chromed barrel.

Try 28 grains of H322 should be pretty close to 2550.  I crimp everything.

I've never crimped rifle ammo, but then again I've always just loaded for my bolt guns. I haven't seen any need for crimping with my 6.8, but I haven't shot it a lot yet either. If you're going to crimp, use a bullet with a cannelure.

I use a lee factory crimp and lightly crimp my prohunters. I have DMR chambers with 1/12 1/13 so I can shoot hotter loads. if you come on over to th 6.8forums.com we have all the best answers over there with a great group of people

A light crimp with a Lee FCD will not hurt a thing. I have been reloading for the 6.8 for 4 1/2 yrs. and a light crimp on a bullet with no cannelure is ok. I also do it on my .23 ammo with no ill effect.
