I have just scored 24 pounds of the stuff.  I intend to use the data for BLC-2.  The question is,  how much does this stuff vary from lot to lot?  Have any of you tried this stuff?  What loads did you wind up with?  Were you happy with  the results?

They do suggest reworking up your loads when changing lots.  Personally I just back mine down a bit and then load up watching for signs

Great score.  I've used it in 55gr fmjbt with good results. Wish I could get some more.

I've got the load written down but I don't remember it now.  I think I worked it up to run just under 3000 fps from my 16" 1/9 ar.

Your WC-820 is M1 carbine powder. May be a little faster burning than H110. Great for 357 & 44 mag loads!

WC846 can vary quite a bit from lot to lot.  It would be a big mistake to use BL-C(2) data without beginning with the very minimum listed start load.  Some lots of WC846 are significantly faster than BL-C(2); on the order of 190 fps faster with the same powder charge.

That's interesting, because my lot of WC-846 is definitely slower than BLC-2.

So, I'm thinking?

Dangerous, maybe?

OK.....

So..........IF I had 24 lb.......3 - 8 lb cans..........would I be looking at the lot #.

Then, assuming that they were all different.

Would I........mix up all of the three cans.........then, split them back up into the 3 cans?

The downside is that I may not actually mix them...........OK. So, I need to do a good job.

The upside is that once it's done........I'll have a good chance of WC846 data (making my own) that could be used until I run out of this powder.

What do you think?

Aloha, Mark

I think the most appropriate (and SAFEST) way would be to work the load up for each 8lb keg, treating each as not just a different lot but (since this stuff is pretty widely variable) as a "similar" powder.  With 24lb of the stuff, working up a load for each keg would not in any way significantly diminish the vast amount of ammo you could load...
