guys, I just made contact with a local range that is trying to sell their 55 gallon drums of brass at bulk prices. Current price where I live is $.55 per pound for yellow brass. Does anyone have a rough estimate of how much a drum would weigh full?

5 gallons = roughly fitty (50) pounds, Ricky Bobby.

Thus, you're talking 605 pounds... ball park.

ACTUALLY (upon further review) it's closer to 60 lbs on a full five gallon bucket.  More like 660lbs for a 55 gallon drum.

I think im gonna pass anyway cause I talked to the guy and he wants $1500 flat per drum with no possibility of sorting to find what I need, so hes asking almost $2.30 per pound

When I talked to the guy, he tried to use some scare tactics to get me to come and buy it ASAP. He was telling me to buy it right away before someone else did because the ammo tariff that was passed goes into effect in July and then it will be too expensive for anyone to shoot. I had heard about the tariff idea during the 2008 campaign as one of Obamas ideas years ago but I had never heard that it passed and would go into effect this summer.

Yeah $1500 for a 55 gallon drum is waaaay to much.. I wouldn't pay more than $300-$400 depending on what is in it.
