Is this a good option for use in 9mm, .45, .40 S&W etc...

What if any are the advantages/disadvantages of using Bluedot over any other powder?

Blue Dot is spiky and meters poorly, especially in small charges. It does make good velocities. Given my druthers, I'd choose Power Pistol for that niche.

I use it in 10mm and .357 mag when I want some fire breathing loads. It will give you top velocity on these two.

I gave up on it for .40 because I had unburned powder flying back in my face.

It is the best powder for .45 Super.  But in .45 ACP, the pressure is too low for clean burning.  It should work good in 9mm, .40 and 10mm for heavy loads but they will have a lot of flash.

I use Blue Dot for my 'mild' .44 Mag loads, and even then, I get some unburned powder.  For what you list, Power Pistol will be much better.

Great in the 10mm, but as others have said it doesn't meter well and needs to be loaded heavy for a good burn.

I run it in most of my pistol loads.   380, 9mm, 38super, 357sig. No issues.

Havent tried it in 45 as I am burning through 4# of 231

I got 32lb of it cheap some time back. I like it for cast .38's.
