I know that Win. and LC brass are the best, but what other brass is worth keeping to reload? I've never done it before but plan to in the near future once I fill a 5 gal. bucket or two. I just picked up a few 100 rd. value packs at wal mart and it looks pretty decent. Would you keep any foreign brass? How many times can you reload brass before it's garbage? Thanks for your input.

Brass and gold are the only two yellow metals that are worth keeping.

Remington is good as well.  I have a thousand pieces of unfired Guatamalan brass I have not tried but heard is excellent.

IMHO........Keep it all.

Sort it.........lots that are too small are either, kept longer or sold as scrap.

Berdan primered brass........goes immediately to the scrap bucket.

Even though some brands may have a "bad reputaion"..........try them, who really knows everything?  Lots may change.  You decide for yourself.

There is no such thing as garbage boxer primed brass.  I load everything.  I don't even bother to sort my handgun brass.

Seems that I remember that LC brass is very thin, and hard to get good results with. I may be wrong though.

LC is premium brass.  The primer pockets have crimps that must be addressed on the first reload.

You could be thinking of FC brass from the 90s.  LC brass is good stuff.

I wouldn't throw any Brass away personally. Untill it needs to from cracks or other pressure signs.

How many times you can reload it depends on many factors. How hot you load them is one.

IIRC, you can even have steel cases ammo sent out and have that reloaded.? Someone else may be able to confirm that though.

Good luck.

I don't swing that way.  Brass is plentiful enough where I rotate it out before it splits or separates.

I disagree.

ADCOM 99 headstamp (5.56x45mm)
AMERC  (any and all)
Older Federal FC brass (.223)

There are more...all brass is not equal.

In 223 for an AR, I don't load Americ or FC.

Sounds like you need to read up at the top of the page.   ^ that way.
