Excellent thread! I have been kicked out to the garage and am about to setup my cave again. I haven't kept my reloading equipment in the garage before and wanted to know if the winter months would be hard on this stuff. Is it ok to keep the supplies in the garage? Winter can get below zero here and stay in the low teens during the day.

| hi,nice man caves!!! i will be posting picks of my new one my girlfriend built for me.it is almost done.just waiting for my benchtop to mount mt presses and finish the vault.we helped a litlle but she built almost all of it by herself.it should be done next month then have a cave party to break it in!!!! |

My "Apartment Special"
Press and trimmer are attached with wing nuts, so they go in the cabinet above the stove and the bench folds up stores in the back of the closet. Works great for .40 & .223, but the heavier force required for 30-06 makes it a little unstable on carpet...have to take it out on the balcony for that :). |

I reload in the main area of the garage and frequently heat it from single digits to 72 or so degrees. I've experienced no problems with my reloading equipment. Just keep an light cote of oil on things and all is well. Good luck with your set up! |

Since my SO and her son moved in to my place in January this what I have been dealing with (had to give up my "handloading room" to the kid so he could have somewhere to sleep):
However, I started working on turning about a third of my garage into a "Man Cave". My "crew" will be back this weekend, and hopefully we will be able to finish (including building a bench) on Saturday and be able to shoot a match on Sunday. Here is the progress so far: Before:

 Top is 2 layers of 3/4 melamine glued and screwed together. Everything put away, I sit to reload. 550 and SDB is stowed position.  Loading single stage 357 action shot. Cover off of scale and powder trickler, mounted at eye level. Drawer pulled out, and provides a spot to place processed cases.  Loading 7.62 x 39 on 550. 1k batch in progress. Yellow bin, brass to be loaded, cardboard box loaded rounds. Larger blue bin is ejected loaded rounds, small blue bin empty cases to be loaded, refilled from yellow bin.  Also mount SDB same place, loading 9mm here.
