Bought a lee case trimmer set up today(cutter and lock stud/case length gauge and shell holder. The instructions on the back of the pack states "lock deprimed case in shell holder with the lock stud". The problem is that the threads bottom out before they lock on the brass case. Causing the case to not be secure on the fixture. I took it back to the store and we opened another set and it was the same way. Is this normal. It seams to me the brass is suppose to lock on and be firm. Am I missing somthing?
It is a #4 shell holder |

Quoted: I can not post pic. I have a camera but have not mastered the posting picS ![]() ![]() this pic posted above is helpull. The shell holder and drive spud do NOT thread together on mine!!! damn QA inspectors!! the shell holder is threaded on the inside or supposed to be, the lock stud - the black part is threaded like a bolt, the shell holder is llike a nut. Make Lee honor their 2 year unconditional guarantee Maybe Lee slipped in their #4 no threaded shell holder? |
| I found that the threads between the two peices would not bottom out due to threads. Went back to the store I bought it from. They alowed me to open another package and we found the same problem. The store keeper informed me that the product must not be faulty and that the idems are corect as is. When I should him that it does not lock down on the brass he just shruged his shoulders. So I left and went to my local s.w. I opend three packs of the #4 to find a shell plate that was threaded deep enough to allow the two parts to mate. The tool works great now that I have two peices that were manufactured correct. |
