| Anybody reloading cast bullets for their 40's...? I'm looking to cast and load some 175TC's with perhaps Titegroup. Not having a whole lot of luck finding a starting load. Any suggestion...? What about a 145SWC...? Thanks. |

I use cast 10mm bullets in my .40 S&W.
I've got an XD40 Service, so no polygonal (sp?) rifling issues. Also got a Kel TecSub2000 in .40 I currently use 170 and 180gr Lead Cast SWC from Missouri bullet Company. Previously I used Berry's plated 180gr HP before their prices became unacceptable. The wax on the lead cast bullets creates a sort of "tracer" effect out to 8-15 yards as the wax burns off. They work great for practice/training ammo. No leading issues to date, I use Universal powder for most of my reloads and usually keep it .5 gr below max listed in the Lyman 7th edition (I think thats the edition I've got). |
