You have to get in the right frame of mind.  Even with a Giraud trimmer, 3000 pieces is a LOT.

Spread it over about two and a half weeks.  I just finished cleaning, sizing, and flaring two coffee cans full to the top of 9mm brass, and did a gallon freezer bag of .45 ACP last night.  The 9's took longer because I keep bringing more range pickup home since I have started shooting that cartridge again.

Ballbags did you chuck a batt. operated drill on your trim Pro?  I do that to speed things up.  I do 500 pieces or less at a time.  But 3,000 is insane.

With volume like that it would be easy to justify the Giraud that could be done in a couple evenings fairly easy with the Giraud and with a lot less effort.  Of course with 3K I would rule out the possibility of a nasty blister

I hear ya man...  I've been trimming .223 brass on the damn Lee hand trimmer all week.  I don't even feel the pain in my hands anymore.  Only 400 cases left to trim.  Thanks to this fun, I gave up on my original plan of using a hand reamer tool to remove the primer pocket crimps on a lot of my cases, and I just ordered the Dillon super swagger.

Now I've just got to figure out how to set up my drill press for case trimming.

And I thought I had it bad on my Lyman manual doing 500pcs, I think if I had to do that much I would find somebody to share the expense of a electric one like a Giraud

I have a box full of .223/5.56 to trim and uncrimp primer pockets.  I just picked up a Dillon RT1200B trimmer, and am looking forward to it.  But, yeah, I'll be doing like 100-200 at a time, not all at once.  That would drive me insane....

Nah, not so bad.
Wait... yeah it is. I hate that chore the most worstest.
I did 3k win nt on my old lyman with the drill conversion thingy and bagged it.
I've got 4k LC trimmed and bagged, same method. About 4k more untouched.
Haven't even started on the WCC yet.
I started laying in the brass a while back and been slogging my way through it.
Slow, but it works.

Ya but 10k is a two year supply and no pockets to swage or trimming needed the second time around.

I did about 400 pieces over the weekend with my RCBS Trim pro,  without  the 3-way cutter.  That got pretty tedious.  Using a hand deburring/chamfering tool, I could trim, deburr, and chamfer 50 cases in 16 minutes.  I have a few thousand more pieces of 5.56 brass sitting around.  I figure I'll just plug away at it here and there all winter.

Thanks I'm going to order one tomorrow .  Do you think it can trim a half inch of a case ? I'm necking .223 down to .221 then to .17 fireball ? The pic below shows how much I trim.
I use a harbor frieght saw right now and it sucks.
Sorry for the hijack....

You may want to call Doug that makes the Giraud and ask direct, he may be able to make you a custom holder with a little more throw.  I never had to trim 1/2" off brass before so I can't say for sure.

I agree with AeroE;  just spread the work out.  Do a little bit each night, or every other night.  I sometimes do this with reloading.  I'll resize and expand a whole bunch o' cases one night.  Then come back in 2 or 3 days and do the priming and loading.

Seems like less work that way.
