I work at a factory and have access to sheet metal, presses, and brakes. I need the dimensions on the Dillon Strongmount so I can fab one up to mount my new 550. As it is mounted now, the handle throw is way below the bench and is a PITA when seated. Acouple quick pulls with the tape is all I need from someone who has a stongmount, basically the overall base, and the width of the sides. Thanks........

I'd measure mine, but its a dedicated 650 mount and that is shorter, IIRC, than the one for the 550/650.

I did a Google search and found only the hole mounting pattern, I was able to fab one up from those rough dimensions. I still need to paint it and mount the bin for completed rounds, but it works as intended and only cost me 2.45 for bolts. The steel was free from work.

Pardon the mess, still getting the Dillon set up and moving things around trying to find a setup I like.

The actual Strong Mount is two pieces that at the top match the press's holes and are flanged top and bottom at such an angle as to spread out the forces.  I bought one to raise my Hornady Lock-N-Load off the bench top and move it a little back from the edge (this changes the leverage dynamics of the bench and makes the bench more stable), and was surprised at what the thing actually looked like when I got it.  I really like how strong and simple it is.

What gauge steel did you use?
Looks good BTW.  Even better after you powder coat it.  I would like to see a Plasma cut or Water jetted ARFCOM bolt logo on the sides though.

We have a powder coating line at work, honestly I think I will just spray it with Rustoleum as our PC is setup for aluminum and does not adhere well to steel. I'd love to put and ARF logo on it, but we don't yse CNC cutting tools except on glass and mirrors. ( I work at a large aluminum window/storefront/door and glass manufacturing plant) The steel reads .060" on my calipers. I woud have liked something a bit thicker, but I was limited to scrap on hand. I believe I will also need a brace of somesort to make it a bit more rigid. She stays solid until I put it under hard load- sizing. Not perfect, but she'll work. Free is free.
