I need some bullets for reloading and I was hoping there is a place online that doesn't charge and arm and leg for them.

I need the following calibers.
.223
.308
.311
.45 ACP
.40

They don't need to be the greatest stuff. Just some plinking bullets.

Do you know some place?

I'm afraid the cost of the time-machine to transport you back the years necessary to obtain bullets at a reasonable cost would be quite prohibitive.

Suggest you look a "seconds or pulled" pills for the price of bullets, like all reloading components has done nothing but excalate since the war for Haliburton started.

To the Original Poster, I also suggest buying in bulk, which usually saves money, but the immediate cost is a bit more than buying 100 packs.

for your pistol calibers you could go with Berrys plated bullets, i just got some for .40 they were the cheapest i could find and so far, so good.

I don't think the leading problems with my pistols are worth the savings in cost.  I will never load lead again.  I do however load lead bullets that use a gas check.  You will hear about those people that uses very hard lead and claim that they don't have leading issues.  Yeh right.  Just my opinion.  Berry Bullets would be OK I guess, but you can’t get the higher velocities like copper.  That is that.

I've shot laser cast 158 Gr. SWC  no gas checks in my 357 for years with not leading problem I push them up to 1200fps with no problems.

Then I guess you are the lucky one.  I beg to differ though.  I spent countless hours using a steel dental pick, picking out lead from my .45 ACP pistols rifling after using lead bullets, even laser cast.  And as many may know, .45 ACP velocities are in the 800 to 900 fps mark.  All I'm saying is that you should be informed about the possibilities of leading.  It's not fun.  Some guys will even say that they get rid of leading in the barrels by simple shooting copper bullets afterwards.  I don’t know if this is a good idea, and is getting a little off topic.

Hmmm not sure what your problems is then,I have shot laser cast for at least 5 years in fact that all I ever shoot is lead bullet soft and hard cast,I get a little lead  at the forcing cone but nothing significant .  Honestly I can't remember the last time I shot a jacketed bullet in my Ruger BlackHawk.  Might need to slug the barrel to make sure you don't have sizing issues.  Thats a major cause of leading problems.  At 800 fps you should be able to shoot a month from Sunday without leading issues.  I been reloading for almost 30 years I shoot  cast bullets in both rifles and pistols with no lead problems.

For lead bullets, I find that Lee Liquid Alox is a super good substitute for copper jackets most of the time. Absolutely no leading a magnum velocities.

Thanks guys for the leads. I think that around $9 per 100 is better than $25 per hundred that the reloading store was trying to charge.

Do you have Scheels down there in CO?  I've found Hornady 55gr FMJBT for $45 per 500.  I think you can get it cheeper from MidwayUSA though, especially if you buy over 1K at a time.

I don't know? If there is one that seems like a good enough deal to get some ammo ready for the rest of the year. I do reload for the .223 a lot. But I just got a Century C3 HK G3 knock off and I was hoping to reload for this one since I haven't really shot it a lot yet.

I just finished some AK's that I built and I wanted to try them out as well. So I am focusing on those 2 rounds right now. .308 and 7.62. I was thinking about getting a bunch of .308 and load up both rounds with the same bullet. I think it should would well enough. But I heard that .308 will just rattle down the barrel of the AK's? Can I get a confirmation on that or is that not really the case?

I have reloaded .308 (110gr) and (147gr)  for both my sks and three aks. They do shoot.. not as well at .311 bullets, but im just shooting mostly at 50-100yrd range cutting paper.  50 yrds im getting 3-4" groups 100yds is around 4"-8"  depending on if its a 110gr or 147gr.

i have loaded the .308 125gr noslers for my sks for hunting and im getting about 4" group at 100 yards with a cover scope mount and 4x nstar. My daughter hasnt been able to to get a shot off at any deer so i dont know how well they will work, but  i have heard that these bullets do work very well for deer.

Same here. I've pushed Laser Casts even faster in a GP100. They have gone up quite a lot in price since I last bought them. I don't know if they're viable at this point. I've been using Missouri Bullet Company for my lead bullets. Haven't bought in awhile, don't know how they stack up in price, but I like their product.

For FMJs, try Precision Delta, but call and check on their production schedule if time is a factor. I've never used plated. Maybe it'll come to that.

Also check out Precision Bullets (moly coated lead). Again, I'm still using some from last year, can't speak to price.
