First off don't laugh!! ok now that you are done laughing I would like to know how to read a set of digital calipers
All I know is when I look at my reload book if it says OAL for a 9mm is 1.135" that is what I look for on the display but what is the 1.135" is it tens, hundreds, thousands ? the digital set I have came with little to instruction on use
and nothing on how to read, I would like to know what the first 1 means, 2nd 1 meaning and so on

x.000   x means inches
0.y00   y means thenths of an inch (1/10)
0.0z0   z means hundredths of an inch (1/100)
0.00q   q means thousandths of an inch (1/1000)

.358 inches in diameter.. 3 tenths.. 5 hundredths .. 8 thousandths..

Make sure you are in inches mode..

That would be one inch, one hundred and thirty five thousandths.


.X = tenths of an inch
.xx = hundredths of an inch
.xxx = thousandths of an inch
.xxxx = ten thousandths of an inch.
