I'm wanting to make some homemade TAP. Does anyone have any data on this round? I was thinking about using 24grs of H335......this is my target round powder choice so i figured that it would be good for the 55grs V-Max as well,,,

Factory 55 grain TAP ammunition is very accurate.  Here are some factory ammunition velocities for you to shoot for. (no pun intended)

I think that you may wish to explore a touch more powder as the resulting accuracy should make you a happy camper.

Those shoot great with 25.0 gr of H335 in my rifle with cci small rifle magnum primers and OAL of 2.230.  Heard a lot of reports from others saying the same load works great in their rifles as well.  I've gotten some half inch groups with it out of my 16" RRA.  Good luck

I use 55gr Hornaday Fmjbt for target with 24grs of H335 and i have had great results...I was wondering if the ballistic tip needed less or more powder thats why i was going to stick with the 24grs and then go up.

Why not use the 60gn Vmax?  It would have deeper penetration than the 55.

Also I recommend the Hornady Reloading manual as they have excelent load info on all of their bullets.  I'm at work so I don't have access to it right now or I would quote some.

I have the 60gr Taps but midway had a sell on 55gr V-Max bullets i can get 250 of those for the same price as 100 60grs V-max bullets so it was like get 150 free bullets so thats why

I find that 25 grains of H335 behind the 55gr V-max to be great load.
