I have a new replacement drum for the original cracking design.....
tried it last week and it loaded fine, it also fed fine however I didnt get to fire more than 1 round at a time as for some reason the firing pin wasnt hitting the rim with enough force to fire or even light strike. I must admit I'm confused as hell, normal sticks fire fine, drum feeds fine but just doesnt allow the pin to strike - it does feel a little tight in the magwell compared to sticks. Any ideas?? |

I have the same issue with my replacement drum. The bolt isn't going all the way into battery. The stock mags work fine. I think something on the drum mags is causing extra drag on the bolt and that's why it isn't going fully into battery.
After you fire a round, check the bolt. Try moving it forward with your finger that last fraction of an inch and see if it fires. You could also watch the bolt or have someone watch the bolt when you try to fire the second round. You will probably see the bolt move forward when you pull the trigger on the second round and it doesn't fire. |

I just recently purchased 2 new drums and I have a different problem in regards to feeding, not on my GSG-522 rifle(It works like a dream on the rifle), but a GSG-522 PK. I've been talking to several of the employees of the funshop I bought it from and we have some ideas that are going to require me to test it. –––– The problem I have: I had fully loaded both drums and tried them on the pistol. It would fire one round, eject the spent cartridge, and go back into battery with no round loaded. Pull the charging handle back and it looks as if it gets stopped on the top of the magazine. You can pull the handle back several times, letting go of it, and it will not load. Here is the plan of attack. Load fewer rounds, test, load more if it works. I was able to test this the other day on 1 of the drums with only 5 rounds loaded and it worked fine. Then I ran into another problem. I couldn't feed it more than 5 rounds. Now what caused my other feeding problem was the plastic bullets. They were not feeding properly when being pushed down with rounds being inserted. I just got done working with it trying to figure it out. I had taken the head off three times before finally fixing the problem with a paper clip. I had straightened a paper clip out and pressed down on the plastic bullets while rotating the drum as if I was feeding it. I was able to finally push them all the way in, down into the drum, with no problem. After that I did not have any problems reloading the drum. I'm going to test the drums again on Wednesday if possible. At that point I'll dump both drums of ammo, then try feeding it a few rounds at a time, until I see how many it takes for it to not feed into the chamber. It's possible it's one or several things: the spring is new and it will take time to break in, recoil is not allowing it to feed the next round, the weight of the drum, or as stated above, it could be the feed lips. My current feeling is that since I did get it to feed with only 5 rounds loaded, it's possibly a combination of the drum spring being new and the weight of a fully loaded drum causing it to not sit properly when loaded in the pistol. I'll work on it and report back. (I was only able to test this on 1 of the 2 drums as I had loaded the other drum full up and did not have my rifle with me to dump the ammo. I sure as heck wasn't going to do it by hand. So I will be testing both when I get back to the range.) |

Well it looks like my drums may be returned for a refund or credit. I'm now mainly having problems with loading the drums. I'm going to give it another try on Saturday. As it stands right now the plastic bullets are stuck below the mag head in one of the drums and the other
Is not letting me load more than a few rounds in without getting stuck. |
