I was taking apart my GSG-5 today to inspect and clean it.  While cleaning, I found a small piece of metal in the receiver.  I was able to determine it was one of the wings from the breech block.  Has anyone else had this problem?

I e-mailed ATI and am waiting for a response.  I was just curious if anyone else had experienced this

Same thing happened to mine. Sent it to ATI and got it back with a new breech block & barrel.

I did just figure out why my barrel was loose....    my breech block had trash around where they tapped the threads for the barrel.   Cleaned up the two and lapped them together.  Never been happier.   The block does look a bit "pot metalish".

If i rember right this was brought up last summer and ray from ati stated it was a casting that was used in manufacture but not needed once assymbled.

Interesting.  If you look at the receiver halves, there is an area machined out in the receiver which allows the wing from breech block to be seated into it.

I curious what ATI is going to say.
