Would be interested to hear what ideas are out there for mounting a single or a 2-point sling to a GSG-5SD.  Not interested in slings, just different ideas on mounting points.
And I almost forgot, that I'm now entertaining the idea of the full stock vs collapsible or side folding.

I have a two point sling with the snap clips on each end from RRages.

I made two loops from some 550 cord.  I looped one through the sling slot in the stock and connected the  sling clip to the loop.  The second loop of cord I loosened the faux suppressor and looped in behind it and tightened it back down.  I hook the sling snap to that.  Kinda of makeshift, but It works great and I like it.

I like your idea!!  This is the kind of stuff I'm after.  Thanks!

DItto on any gsg5 model.......i just take some of the smallest diameter para-cord and double it with a knot at one end...then take 1 of the 2 loose ends and thread it through any opening whether it be all the sling holes on a UMP styled stock or the front sling eyelet, and once its through make 2 simple knots and clip the excess.

I'm all about the improvised sling point, and using para cord to do so.  On the SD model, there is no hardened point for attachment.  So I'm exploring ways and ideas of others to come up with a solution.

How is your weapon balance using the side folding stock you have?

Its fantastic....quite surprising but when clipping onto the center middle of the stock it brings it right into my chest and allows for the free range of movement from the gun on chest to either one of the shoulders depending on which way you put the sling on.  Fastest and most fluid feeling rig ive used yet.

Any problems with a muzzle heavy feeling with that stock you have?  Is it the classic army side folder?
Thanks.

Not more than any other rig i've used in the past....the biggest gain for me is i generally like to shoot lefty and thus when mounting to any point like the 3 point area or on ump stocks their is a place to mount a sling post but again its on the left side of the gun or non-breach side.  Therefore when i clip into where i have the para-cord i can do so on the breach side of the weapon and so the weapon will sit right on my chest.

The stock is the one from mygsg5.com and is flat out as good as it gets for the money and i would love to put it against an authentic hk ump stock for comparison.

Would anyone else like to chime in on a way to attach a two point style of sling to an SD model?
Thanks

This thread got me thinking re: SD about taking a 2-point sling and hitching both ends to the rear sling mount (I have a CA slider buttstock).  Haven't tried it yet but it basically turns a simple 2-point sling into a single-point sling.  There is of course the other option of just a single point sling through the rear mount if you have a CA slider or the GSG fixed buttstock.  Specter Gear makes a nice single point sling (see their MOUT sling under tactical slings) that has a connection option of a 1" wide tab out of the same nylon as the 1.5" wide sling (comes in black, OG and coyote) that should fit the sling loop (Other makers of sinlge point slings probably have similar options).

I have one of these on a Bushmaster M4 connected to a slot sling mount at the base of the receiver and it works great for that.  Make sure you order with the tab option as I believe this has to be specifically selected or ordered as a separate item with the sling as there are other connection option as well.  When I checked the site for this post, I noticed they have a nice photo on the MOUT sling page attached to an MP5SD, so there you go, if you like single-point slings that is.

I got this one from Blue Force and I'm very pleased with it.
