I wanted to clean my GSG5 carbine prior to going to the range, so I got out their instruction manual and proceeded. First I removed the buttstock then the bolt stop, next the trigger guard was removed. The problem was that the bolt housing would not slide out of the receiver, it would move a small distance to the rear then hangup. Not wanting to force anything I reassembled the carbine and thought it would be wise to ask you guys. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you see what it's hitting/hanging on? Mine slides right out after everything is removed. Are you hearing metal-to-metal pinging when it hangs up?

Are pics possible?

trigger guard?  i'm drawing a blank.

anyway, is the firing pin/trigger de-cocked by dry firing into that little red plastic piece that goes into the chamber or a SPENT .22 casing?

I had this happen to me the first time I disassembled the rifle.

However, I made one huge mistake.  I forgot to remove the chamber indicator before attempt this, so I got the bolt carrier stuck pretty good.  When I pushed it back into place and removed the indicator, I still found that it was getting caught up.  I loosened the screws on the outside of the body of the gun every so slightly and it came out.  After I reassembled the rifle, I did not have this problem any more, even after I tightened the screws back up.

I did decock the carbine and there is no metal to metal sound. When attempting to draw the bolt carrier to the rear it just moves about an inch and a half then stops like the opening at the back of the receiver is to tight. Very perplexing, I even found a You Tube video showing takedown which shows the bolt and carrier easily sliding out.

This is   ...............

So, the bolt will easily cock when using the cocking handle, yet it won't travel as far when attempting to remove it during disassembly?

Sounds like it may possibly be similar to the above post about his receiver being too tight on the end?

Are you able to have another GSG owner watch this issue along with you?

Exactly the same problem I had after the screw swap. Loosen that rear screw on the body, once you get the carrier out, tighten the screw back up and sand the rear of the bolt carrier just a bit so it will go in and out with that rear outside screw tightened.

My Breech-housing was very difficult to slide out when I got it. It may take some force.

Blast it with a little CLP––it'll slide out.

Just sent it back to ATI after receiving an email from Ray there. I'll let you guys know how everything works out.

Mine has gotten pretty snug at the rear due to fitting many, many buttstocks to it, but it still slides on out with much tugging. I've lost alot of finish too, and not just in the back. Makes it look like a veteran - I like it.

Got my GSG5 back this evening from Ray, now that was good customer service. I'll play with it tomorrow but I'm confidant all will be good.
