| I just received my new GSG-5 yesterday, today I took it to the range, and I have a problem. The bolt does not stay open on the last round. I fired 300 rounds from the rifle, sometimes the last round would not feed and the bolt would stay open. However most times the last round fired and I pulled the trigger on a empty chamber because the bolt did not stay open. This happened maybe five times I know it's really bad to dry fire a rimfire. After that I started to count my shots and stop before the last shot. I hate the thought of sending back my brand new GSG-5. With a empty mag in the gun the bolt will not remain open. Could it just be a defective mag ? Other than this problem the GSG is a dream, accuracy is fantastic only one FTF, Wal-Mart ammo, everyone who saw it wants one. Just a FUN FUN gun to shoot. |

look in this thread
http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=41&t=253513 make sure the spring in the first post is there cock your gun and hold the bolt back and look in and make sure the spring is there if it is there make sure the metal arm below it is moving properly up and down this is what holds your bolt open on the last round it sounds like your spring is missing or is to weak did you take the gun apart before you shot it? or did you buy it used? |

Yes, the spring is there and no I did not take anything apart. The gun went from the box to the range. Also the gun is brand new from a dealer. I have played with it a little in the last hour and if I giggle the mag once it's inserted the bolt will stay open. However, there is definitely some issue with this. |

I'd try another magazine, if you are still having problems after that, then it is the gun that has some issue. |
