Hey guys are these really good firearms? Please rate against current .22, ie 10/22, etc. Are well built?? any quirks yet?? Give me the low down please..Thanks, SSG Retired

It is less picky than my Charger 22 (10/22 pistol) Read of guys getting 1500 rounds pluss without cleaning no failures. I just can't let mine go that long without cleaning. You do have to locktite some screws on the bolt but no big deal. Lots of cool factor and many airsoft acc. that work fine with this gun. I love mine.
Down side is mags are getting harder to find.

I think the general consensus is that these are fun plinkers, and built well enough for that. They eat up all kinds of ammo without problems. There have been a few reported issues with cracking bolts and barrels but those are far and few between. The stock is light and hollow, which is why many people choose to replace them with the solid airsoft ones.
I think its funny about all the reports i've read about owners comparing their GSG5's to 10/22's at the range, the 10/22's always seem to have feed or ejecting problems while the GSG5 gobbles anything, even after many thousands of rounds. Other than the cheap feeling stock, if feels very realistic and shoots great. |
