ok help me out ,,if i have a gsg in ny with a 10 rd detachable mag, i can only have 1 tactical acc ,on it like a folding stock ,pistol grip, or flash hider but if i had two thats a no no .. correct. am i reading the regs properly what about a bipodmounted on the ris.. where do i get the latest reg for ny |

In NY you are illegal if you have two of these, which means you can only have one. A pistol grip on a AR 15 is all you can have. No folding stock or no bayonet lug. Take a look at the regulations below. NYS "Assault Rifle" law |

check this out i was a the local gun shop he says i,m legal with the 10 rd mag and 2 acc.mounted i also was at the local gander mtn he says the assualt weapon rule is for centerfife guns i can just about do what i want except for the 10 round clip ??????????? who is to beleive i there anyone who really know his s**** gonna write me a letter to atf. |
You don't care about the grenade launcher or bayonet lug for a GSG. There's a threaded barrel, which I don't believe the GSG comes with, so again, you're okay. That leaves a pistol grip and a telescoping stock. The GSG does have a pistol grip. As it's based on an airsoft MP-5, I guess, you could add a telescoping stock to it. At that point, it would be illegal. With a fixed stock (of any length, provided the OAL and barrel length are sufficient), you're fine. IANAL, YMMV, contact the state police for more reliable data. Nothing in the law will let you use a magazine that can hold 11 or more rounds on the GSG, since there are no pre-94 mags available for it, to my knowledge. There is a provision in the law that permits greater than 10 rimfire rounds in an attached tubular magazine, but that's not what the GSG uses. So, ten round mags, don't put a telescoping stock on, and don't shorten or thread the barrel. |
He probably meant illegal to buy from an online retailer and have it shipped, as it comes with a 'hicap' mag. I think the mag has to be absent or disassembled to have one shipped to the state. |
Or do what I did and order a GSG-5 with a 10 round mag. No, he meant it was illegal period. Than he tried to sell me one of his .22LR's. |
