| I feel like a dumb ass. I have a brand new GSG-5 and I also purchased the GSG scope mount. How do you get the SOB on? I have already scratched the crap out of the upper. Any help would be appreciated. |
| There is s hole or a slot on the bottom of the mount that must mate to the tab on top of the upper on the GSG 5. Once you mate those two together, it should fit fine. It took me a few tries and a few scratches to figure it out too. Loosen the screws on the side opposite of the ejection port and pop the mount on paying attention to line up the hole or slot on the bottom of the mount with the tab on top. |
try taking the screws all the way out and placing it on the receiver, then put the clamps/ screws on. If you already tried that the mount may be out of spec. I've seen a couple that wouldn't sit level. They got replaced no problem. |

mine tilts a little as well. Light dremeling has got it most of the way back tp horizontal. One other quirk is that the GSG rail edge is too thick for my LaRue quick release Eotech base. The release lever cam on the Larue has to be loosened a lot to fit around the rail. |
Perfectly normal. Mine is off a bit as well, but with a red dot it doesn't matter. If you are using something with cross hairs you may see it. |

| I went and bought another GSG mount today thinking mine was flawed. Same thing with this one. Once installed it is off centered to the right. I looked at one of my buddy's gun today with the same mount and it is perfectly centered. This is not rocket science here I know but am I missing something on how this thing is supposed to mount? |
| I have the NcSTAR MP5/G3/GSG-5 Scope Mount, MDMP5 from http://www.zairsoft.com/servlet/the-New-Items-cln-GSG-dsh-5/Categories. Went on straight with no problems, I ordered it Saturday and arrived Monday. Good price and the $5.00 or so shipping is worth the two days or less delivery. |

the mount will only go on one way since the slot in the underside of the mount has to lock over the block on the receiver.
I bought a ATI / GSG factory mount and had the same problem. Damn thing canted at least 15-20 degrees off to the right. Called the dealer I purchased my GSG-5 & mount from and explained the issue and was given a line of BS "it's a 22, 22 mounts rarely sit perfectly level" 
I figured out that the problem was from the slot in the bottom of the mount not being machined deep enough and it was hitting the receiver block before it was level. It took about 10 minutes with a Dremel to make the slot deeper. now my mount fits perfectly level. IMHO: the GSG factory mount is an out of spec POS. From reading several other threads here It's apparent that there are better quality and lower priced mounts available in the airsoft world. |
