I need some insight here.  I'm in California and I'm waiting for my GSG-5 to arrive, I'm trying to make sense (or find loopholes) regarding the assault weapons laws.  It says that in order for it to be compliant the weapon must be a certain length.  However it says that the rules apply to centerfire rifles.  Does that mean, that since the GSG is a rimfire, I can put a different stock on, which would make the overall length shorter?

- 26" OAL(same as Fed) for rimfires
- 10rd magazine limit

It's pretty much fair game as none of the assault weapon laws apply to rimfires. As mentioned above overall length does though.

So there's no way to legally change the stock?

hanging it to a collapsible stock brings it just over 26"..the folding stock would be a no-no

So i can put a CA collapsing stock on and it will be legal?

yes, it will still be legal by changing the stock out to the collapsible one
