I read the stories,
I read the warnings,
I thought, "it wont happen to me"

I cracked my frickin stock, putting it back on after breaking it down for a cleaning.

I was gonna change it anyways

I wish I could of gone that route but it is less than 26 inches when folded and here in MI that is a no-no.

I have a different folding stock, which is also less than 26" when folded on the GSG-5.

I have made a wooden spacer which causes the folded stock on the GSG-5 to have an overall length of just over 26" when folded.

The spacer is in the works and I still have a little bit of work to do on it and need to paint it, but with simple tools you can probably make a spacer as well.

I would be interested in this.  If you would please post some pics of the mod so we can see it.  We could probably add it to the tacked thread as well as it will probably be something that will help a lot of us.

I am going with an A3 for now as I will have to register kine as a pistol either way as long it is over 26 and under 30 inches.

The EE has an occasional one up for grabs, that is if you want a factory replacement.

My question exactly.  The stock that came with mine cracked along the top and bottom seams as  I mounted it on the gun;  didn't even get a chance to overtighten any screw.

I'll Superglue and get back to you.  For five hundred bucks the GSG-5 looks good but overall it seems fragile as in "don't touch it wrong or a spring will fly out or a plastic part will crack."

The MP5, on the other hand is as tough as nails.

Super Glued the stock together and it looks fine...........for now.

If Ruger sold a firearm that fell apart with the frequency of the GSG-5 (based on this site's posts) they would recall it.  They wouldn't advise customers to troll airsoft websites looking for random toy parts to see if they could find a piece that fit to make it work right.

On the plus side I have been offered well over what I paid for the GSG-5 and they have made a deal! SOLD!

I am waiting for mine to go as well.  When it does I am going with a real MP-5 stock and for-end, enough of this airsoft crap.

You could also use a real H&K stock as a replacement. It's put together a lot better than a GSG stock. I think it's made out of Nylon instead of basic plastic. All you do is some a small amount of drimmeling in order to mount it. You can also use the factory MP5 push pins that would keep over tightening down as well.

Here is a thread off Rimfirecentral here a guy did it as well as both push pins.
