Hey guys,

Just got my Dewey nylon-tipped cleaning rods and nylon brushes ,since you're not supposed to use brass (right?)

Well, can I also use my .22lr BoreSnake for a quick cleaning?  I'm reluctant to do so, since the BoreSnake has what appears very short brass brushes located 6" down where the black shoe string meets the mail floss.

Any opinions guys?  Should I ONLY be using nylon brushes?

Thanks!!!

I've been using a boresnake for the last 10,000rds. I don;t see a problem.

It's not a 1/4moa bolt gun.

So what's wrong with brass? it's a lot softer than barrel steel.

I use a bore snake in ALL of my guns.  They are the best thing since sliced bread.
