With the continuing decline of the dollar against the euro I guess its easy to say that the cost of GSG-5 will increase in the next season or later.

Its just a rule of economics.Maybe preordering is a better hedge against price increases in the future.

The demand for these toys are really outstripping supply.

I could not wait for the preorders so I went the gunbroker way. The extra $ I paid over retail was well worth it for  the fun Im having now with it.

The more people go out to the range with the gsg5 the more exposure it gets the    more people will want it. Its just so tacticool!!!

last i heard from someone here is there is 4 confirmed shipments as of now.

1st shipment we already got back in late january.
2nd shipment should be hitting dealers now.
3rd shipment should be in customs maybe.
4th shipment, the boat is/was leaving soon, if not already.  something like that.

i don't think it has anything to do with the value of the $1.  It is simple supply and demand.  Everyone wants them, and no one has them.  Some dealers feel like it is an opportunity to rape people on the price.

^^^well i think part of what the OP was saying was that w/the $'s devaluation vs the euro, it's going to cost more to get it from germany. don't think it was just a point about supply vs demand.

We are told another month for the next shipment. We were also told that 2 months ago.

Probably not very relevant, but you might be interested to know that the GSG-5 costs 650 € NIB here. That's ~$1000. Why it is so much more expensive I have no idea. The thought of it costing the equivalent of $400-500 here is just... absurd. So you guys got it good.

Very relevant Vondster! From your info Im glad to know that even the decline of the dollar the US0fA is still getting a special pricing deal. Makes us feel good knowing that the market arena here is still lucrative.

All I can think of as a reason probably is that there is a lot broader target market here than anywhere else.
The second amendment guarantees that. So we hope.

Prices will get a little higher for sure here though-not as much as in Finland.Just a matter of currency value correction in the marketplace.

You are probably right. Also, the prices are likely to drop here soon enough, too bad I already got mine, really nice gun with a red-dot, and it is suppressed too! And eventhough it was expensive I think it was worth it.

Btw magazines are 45 €, that's $70. BUT the suppressor was 40 €, so I guess we are even now, heh.
