What is the general opinions of TOPS knives?
I bought several about 15 years ago when they were starting out.
I never used them much they were put back as spares.
What's the opinion of the product?

I love mine!  I have the black rhino, the usmc or whatever their version of the kabar is called, and my wife has the buck/tops nighthawk.
They are all super thick and very high quality.
It's a shame they don't get more attention.

I agree with the above post.
Tops makes great, heavy duty, overbuilt knives.
They're thick on the spine which I prefer.
I also love the Buck/Tops collaboration.
( I have the CSAR-T and this is a beast of a folder.)
I would rate Tops in between Busse and Esee.

Here are pics of the Tops B.O.B, blue otter and my Csar-T

Saw a few YT videos of their upcoming 2016 offerings...I'm really interested in the B.O.B. Folder.

I have read this question over the years here and on other sites.

It seems that most people agree that TOPs makes a quality product at a decent price but some of the models are a bit crazy and they have weird names.

I have been very happy with the few TOPS knives that I own.

I almost bought their wild hog hunter, I think it's called. It's a great copy appearance-wise to the russian Kizlyar Phoenix 1 Combat. I ended up ordering the Bark River Bravo Pig Sticker (horrible name, btw) because it looked a little beefier and was an inch longer blade-wise. If I can't find a new Kizlyar I'll probably order the TOPS.

Last year at the NRA annual meeting Tops had a table with big discounts. I picked up a Sky Marshall. I love this knife. I think Tops are one of the best deals going.

The Tops guys are great guys. I plan on going to this year's annual meeting just to get another knife and talk to the Tops guys again. No bro crush.

Years ago I bought Browning FDX 684 and 686 knives. Both were made by TOPS and are versions of the Cochise and Tom Brown Tracker models. I put them in the safe and forgot about them. I've recently been getting back into knives, mostly bushcraft style knives and whaddayaknow... both of my Browning/TOPS knives are perfect for that role! So yeah... I'm digging them right now. In fact, I just ordered a TOPS Cochise with the white micarda handles (versus the green ones on my Brownings). So I'll have three TOPS knives shortly (and I intend to pull them out of the safe and get 'em dirty, as they were intended).

I use a Lite Traveler as my do-all, get me home, truck knife.

Also have the Power Eagle. Inherited it from my late brother. Still new and unused.

I dig that Light Traveler. Looks like a good candidate for an EDC fixed blade.

And wow... that Power Eagle looks like quite the zombie apocalypse blade.

My sincere condolences on how you came inherit it.

Thanks. He was only 59 when he passed 2yrs ago.

The Power Eagle would surely do some work on zombies. This angle shows the girth of it. Its razor sharp as well.

I had a TOPS BOB for all of 5 minutes before my daughter claimed it for her own.  She showed it to a friend who asked for one for Christmas!

The BOB falls close to the sharpened pry bar category, but I don't have to worry about my girl breaking the blade if she uses it for a piton and rappels from it.

This is now a pic thread

Here's the US Combat Knife next to a Kabar.

The whole family:
US Combat Knife, Black Rhino, and the Tops/Buck Nighthawk

Everyone of of these is basically a sharpened prybar.  Check out the thickness of the Black Rhino, compared to an Essee 3 and the KaBar.

Got my new TOPS Cochise today. Very nice. Not sure if I like the Browning FDX 684 twin's green grips and black blade, or the TOPS Cochise' white grips and grey blade better. Dig 'em both and looking forward to using them this sprint and summer. Also included a pic of my 3 Browning FDX knives as well.
