Have to say, I'm impressed with the build quality and materials in this Chinese knife.

Solid lockup, not blade play whatsoever.

For a bigger folder, it's fairly lightweight too.

Kizer Ki5414A1 4" S35VN steel blade

Titanium liners & pocket clip

Yes they do, and nice blade materials too but the blade is really only as good as the heat treatment.

I'm too poor to do a torture test.

And they can stamp whatever they want on the blade and that doesn't make it so.

Chinese 440C isn't always the same as other countries' 440C.

It's a nice looking knife and appears to be well made with some interesting touches.

I had considered the black version around Christmas as a gift to myself. knifecenter listed the status as "delayed by manufacturer" so I bailed.

Would be nice if the clip mounted closer to the edge for deep pocket carry

That's good to know.

I wasn't impugning Kizer's reputation, specifically, just stating that the Chinese can and do stamp anything they want on certain products and that fact alone, doesn't make it so.

I picked up the same knife in Moscow in early 2015 right after the Ruble crashed.

I payed 40$ for it and I love it!

Nice looking knife. I don't care for thumb studs though. Perhaps you could drill a Spidey hole in it.

It's usually the fasteners that are soft. The blades are usually fine. I've gotten some chinese knives with German D2 steel blades that are great knives.
