Thinking of buying of eBay. Do you guys have a Recommended seller? Just looking to save a few bucks. Might be better off getting from a trusted web-site?

That was really specific. Links to auctions would help.

But to be honest if it's a price that beats what is on normal retail sites and they have a few hundred or thousand sales with very little to no negative feed back you are usually safe and its a good idea.

Just my $.02

Agreed 100%.  eBay is always one of the places I check when I'm comparison shopping.  Not just knives but anything I order online which is just about everything.  I only look at the buy it now items so I never have to bid on anything, just click a button and it's mine.  There are tons of sellers with 10,000+ feed back and 99.9% positive ratings and I've never had a single problem.

Be careful with fakes. There is a lot of mid range knives like Benchmade and Spyderco that are often faked. Some are almost impossible to tell.

If you spend $70 on a fake Spyderco and don't care that it's fake, that fine. But  places like GPKnives or BladeHQ are pretty close to any "Buy it Now" price on EBay.

There are a few sellers as mentioned earlier that have lots of feedback and are legit. See what else the seller is selling.

What are you looking for?

It depends what you're looking for.  I've bought a couple used knives from http://www.ebay.com/sch/multitoolsandstuff/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3692

The Benchmade I bought was in excellent condition and the price was about $70 less than buying new at BladeHQ or such.  The other knife I bought was a discontinued knife so the only option was to purchase it on the secondary market.

On my second order he threw in a couple free albeit cheap knives :).

If I want new, I look at:

If I want used, I look at the exchange/buy/sell/trade sections of sevearl knife forums, in addition to eBay.  I only get things on eBay if I can snipe it.
