Howdy all,  my father gave me this about thirty years ago and while it's caught my attention again I'd like some insight.  There are no makers marks of any kind on it,  my old man called it guardfather.  Quick google turned up something like it but not quite.  It's all steel construction with a pretty tight spring and reloading it takes more effort than you'd think.  It's a quality piece for what it is.  So...What's it called?  who made it?  whats it worth?  Much obliged.

Those were made by in the 80s by a company in Italy if I remember right.  They were called the Guardfather.  They have collector value, I don't know if it's because they were banned from import or because they just aren't made anymore. I saw one listed as sold for $300.

They were a regular staple at gun shows in the 80s, right next to the knockoff Jimmy Lile style Rambo knives.  Much better made though.

edit:  it doesn't mean they'll get it, but there's one on gunbroker right now for $600:  http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=386645494

Well good Sir,  I will most certainly give that generous offer the attention it deserves.
