I've got 2 real fine Benchmade Autos. but unfortunately they are destined to stay in the safe most of the time. I think I should store them 'open', to leave the pressure off the spring. Is this proper thinking, or should they be closed and nicely packed in their original boxes ?
                       Thanks Guys

Just like loaded mags..  The springs will be fine compressed.  It's the loading and unloading of the spring that causes wear.

Just rub some mineral oil or hoppes on the blade before storage. (some type of rust inhibitor)

I have a switchblade I've owned for over 50 years, I've always kept it closed, still works like a boss.

I had a Benchmade that I always stored open, thinking it would help the spring, didnt help, spring still popped on me a year later. I think youll be fine stored however you choose.
